A tool to access the world of the Bosch intranet
Bosch wanted to improve the access to it´s huge intranet for their employees worldwide. I was part of the UX-Team where I created concepts, conducted on-site user testings and managed internal designers and external technical implementation partners. The solution was rolled out to nearly 400.000 users.

The Challenge
How might we offer access to important internal informations and simplify work for over 390.000 employees worldwide?
Every day, several hundred thousand people access the home page of the Bosch intranet to jump from there to the areas relevant to them. Optimizing this access is a basic prerequisite for fast and efficient work and therefore essential for the success of a large corporation like Bosch.
The Approach
When developing a tool that reaches so many people, the most diverse requirements, wishes, ideas and needs of dozens of stakeholders must be taken into account from the very beginning. A user-centered way of thinking and working is the logical consequence - and was therefore the foundation.
The Process
Thanks to a extensive UX concept, prototyping and testing phase, we were able to use expert reviews and extensive usability tests not only to identify possible pitfalls early on, but also to uncover additional potential new features.

Prototypes were created with various stages of maturity. From simple clickdummies to high-fidelity interaction prototypes
Result
The focus of the application is on designing the workspace individually and adapting it to the users own needs. This includes drag & drop features and a highly customizable appearance. The integrated search feature with Auto Suggest, search history and favorites also guarantees fast and efficient access to all areas of the extensive Bosch intranet at all times.
